What to do in Bali - 25/01/2019
My partner and I left Sweden in October to escape the cold. Instead we would live in Bali to gain new inspiration, be warm, tanned, and eat amazing food! Food is my thing, that is what I’m thinking of when I’m not eating. Thankfully my passion is to inspire people towards a healthy diet and lifestyle.
Now that we have been in Bali for a while I have had the chance to try out several cafés that offer healthy, unhealthy, vegan, vegetarian and all sorts of food. In this post I will write about my six favourite healthy cafés in the Canggu area.
Matcha Café. This green café loves matcha! And so do I. Here you can chose from several organic matcha green tea beverages. Their menu also includes many vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and refined sugar free options. Most of their produce are local and organic, that’s a big bonus!
The café is located in Berawa just next to Canggu Nest, which makes it a perfect go-to place for a plant-based protein shake after a tough class!
This café, located in Berawa not far away from Canggu Nest, promotes health and clean food. Nüde has something for everyone with vegan and gluten-free options on their menu. Their fruity breakfast bowls and spring rolls are my personal favourites! If you’re into vegan food, this place has one of the best vegan burgers so far.
The interior is very cool so if you are an Instagramer or just looking for good looking food photos, don’t walk past this one.
Peloton Supershop is an entirely plant-based café which offers everything from big healthy salad bowls to vegan burgers with waffle fries. My favourites on the menu are the smoothies, green juices, raw taco and the “Power House Bowl” because it has it all you need.
This place can be very busy during lunch and dinner time but please do not miss this one! It’s a perfect place to fuel yourself with plants.
This café is located in Canggu opposite a beautiful rice field. This is a place where you can chill for a long time! You will understand once you get there, the vibes and atmosphere is amazing. The Shady Shack is offering healthy vegetarian and vegan vibrant food. But don’t worry, you can also have that naughty double cheese burger with fries.
My personal recommendations are the Nori Bowl, Sweet Potato Gnocchi, and their creamy smoothie bowls!
Another plant-based cafe located in Berawa close to Peloton Supershop. This is a hidden gem! Their food is packed with flavour, many sugar and gluten-free options, and it’s very good value for what you pay. If you come here you have to try their homemade treats, all without refined sugar and gluten.
In the Raw Beachgarden
Looking for a health boost? This café focuses on whole foods and offers many raw and vegan options. They even have a salad bar where you can build your own awesome salad bowl! This café also offers tons of green juices and even juice cleanse programs.
My favourite thing about this café is the wide range of plant-based treats and ice creams!
